Julie Threapleton

Intern Clinical Counsellor

As a working mother and stepmother, Julie understands the complexities of modern life and the challenges women face during life transitions, including motherhood, career changes, menopause, and evolving relationships.

Julie’s main areas of interest include life transitions, stress, burnout, menopause and mental health, and parenting children with complex developmental behaviour conditions. With 20 years in education, she has extensive experience supporting individuals with significant behavioural and learning challenges. Her passion for women’s mental health is informed by her personal experiences of raising a child with complex needs, living in a blended family, and caring for her mother through Alzheimer’s.

Guided by a person-centred, strength-based approach, Julie creates a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore life’s challenges with curiosity and courage. She empowers clients to build resilience, foster personal growth, and strengthen their relationships with themselves and others through humour, compassion, and creativity.

Julie has completed her practicum and is offering reduced cost counselling while she awaits registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
