Maux Elworthy (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) known for her ability to invite curiosity and compassion into some of the darkest challenges of human experience. Maux draws on specialized training in grief and loss, Somatic Experiencing, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and trauma-informed care to support clients in expanding their capacity for connection to self and other. Her practice is grounded in polyvagal theory, change theory, feminist and anti-oppressive values, neuroscience, and relational care. With a professional background that includes crisis response, suicide intervention training, workplace mental health, change management, and end-of-life support work, Maux brings a steady, attuned presence to the therapeutic relationship. She offers both individual counselling and group facilitation, virtually and in-person, and is known for creating welcoming, culturally-responsive spaces where clients feel met with care and respect. Maux supports adults navigating trauma, grief, OCD, life transitions, and existential questions about life. Her intention as a therapist is to meet clients with compassion and curiosity, helping clients build nervous system regulation and a deeper connection to themselves. Maux believes that healing happens within relationship, and therapy can be that relational container.
