Laurel Aasen

Registered Clinical Counsellor

RCC #13124

Laurel is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over a decade of experience, who feels genuinely grateful to do this work. She has had the privilege of working with adults, teens, and individuals, and also provides clinical supervision.

Below are some descriptions of the clientele and issues she supports:

- Individuals experiencing major life transitions and feel overwhelmed (eg. a move, adjustment to university, change in relationship, new job, becoming a parent). - Have anxiety that interferes with their functioning - Live with chronic pain or chronic illness - Have experienced trauma and are looking for ways to support their nervous system - Are wanting support with grief and bereavement - Want space to explore concerns about their relationships - Are wanting to explore current patterns of thinking, feeling, relating, and behaving, to create more opportunity for new choices in their lives - Are educators experiencing burnout and fatigue - Identify as neurodiverse (eg. ADHD, autism, HSP)

Her approach as a counsellor is practical, compassionate, and collaborative, with the goal of helping you reconnect with your life in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable. She values integrity and curiosity within the work. Outside of session, she's a type-B Mom to two young kiddos, as well as a Dog-Mom to a spirited Jack Russell. She has an uncanny ability to fail miserably at cooking, no matter how much she practices. But her memory for lyrics to 90's music is top notch.
